What is L-Citrulline?
L-citrulline is non-essential amino acid. Our kidneys change it into another amino acid called L-arginine and a chemical named nitric oxide. These compounds are important to heart and blood vessel health. 1
Key features:
- Aids in maintenance of elasticity of blood vessels via increasing nitric oxide production (Nitric oxide is a molecule that relax the blood vessels resulting in increased oxygen and blood flow)
- L-citrulline has been shown to be more effective in promoting the production of nitric oxide than L-arginine itself.
Indications: - Cardiovascular conditions
- Erectile dysfunction due to insufficiency of blood flow
- Athletic support
L-Citrulline is an amino acid involved in both urea cycle and nitric oxide cycle. Though being the precursor of L-arginine, L-citrulline has been shown to be more effective in promoting the production of nitric oxide than L-arginine itself.
Potential applications may include cardiovascular conditions, erectile dysfunction due to arteriolar insufficiency, and athletic support.
Suggested Use:
Adults - take 1 teaspoon a day, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.

Heart health:
high blood pressure and hardening of arteries
In a clinical trial, it demonstrated effectiveness in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the . In the trial pulmonary artery pressure and exercise capacity (i.e. mean walking distance) were significantly improved after 3 g of L-citrulline daily for 2 weeks
